EPD Verified

Ashford Formula & RetroPlate

Our new third-party Environmental Product Declaration documents the full sustainability profile of Ashford Formula, RetroPlate, and key supporting products—reinforcing industry trust and elevating transparency for modern building standards.

Environmental product declaration

Sustainability, Verified.

Curecrete has released an independently verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its flagship densifiers, Ashford Formula and RetroPlate, along with key supporting products including CreteClean Plus with Scar Guard, RF Grind & Enhance, and KickStart. This release strengthens transparency, elevates sustainability reporting, and supports architects, specifiers, and design-build teams worldwide.

This EPD documents the complete sustainability profile of Curecrete’s densified and densified-polished concrete technologies—trusted solutions relied on for decades. With this verification, Curecrete further reinforces industry confidence and supports sustainable building standards across North America and around the globe.

Sustainable by design

Why Densified and Densified-Polished Concrete is a Sustainable Choice

Low Carbon Footprint

Reduces carbon impact by using the existing slab and avoiding added materials like carpet or VCT that need continuous recoating or replacement.

Longer Slab Life

Extends the life of the concrete slab by increasing density, hardness, and abrasion resistance.

Cleaner Indoor Air

Densified floors are dustproof, do not trap allergens, and avoid the off-gassing associated with many floor-covering products.

No Coatings Needed

Eliminates coatings and reapplication cycles, reducing maintenance materials and waste.

Better Lighting Efficiency

Improves reflectivity on densified-polished surfaces, supporting better lighting efficiency.

Minimal Maintenance

Densified and densified-polished floors are not coatings and therefore do not require invasive maintenance like recoating or replacing.

proven worldwide

Trusted Worldwide for Over 75 Years

For more than 75 years, Curecrete’s systems have protected, strengthened, and extended the useful life of concrete in data centers, logistics hubs, retail stores, government facilities, universities, and manufacturing plants across the world.

This new EPD now documents what the industry has long known: Curecrete’s products perform exceptionally while supporting long-term sustainability goals.

Frequently asked questions

Understand How This EPD Applies to You

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a third-party–verified report that documents the full environmental profile of a product across its life cycle—from raw material sourcing to manufacturing, installation, use, and end-of-life.
It follows globally recognized standards (ISO 14025, ISO 21930, and EN 15804) and provides transparent, comparable data for sustainability-focused design decisions.

This EPD can be referenced in Division 03 specifications when calling for densified or densified-polished concrete systems. It can help project teams:

    • Validate sustainability claims for Ashford Formula, RetroPlate, and Curecrete’s supporting products.
    • Document compliance with transparency requirements in green building standards and Buy Clean programs.
    • Provide verified sustainability documentation during submittals.
    • Meet EPD requirements within Division 03 35 43 or 03 35 00 sections.

Spec example:
“Concrete floor densifier shall provide an independently verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). Acceptable products include Ashford Formula and RetroPlate by Curecrete.”

Yes. Because it conforms to ISO 14025, ISO 21930, and EN 15804+A2 standards, this EPD is accepted globally across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and all regions following these international Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) protocols.

Yes. This EPD contributes to LEED v4.1 Materials & Resources – Building Product Disclosure and Optimization (BPDO), Option 1: EPDs. It counts as a product-specific, third-party–verified Type III EPD, which qualifies as 1 product toward the LEED threshold of 20.

Multiple Curecrete products covered within this EPD—Ashford Formula, RetroPlate, CreteClean Plus with Scar Guard, KickStart, RF Grind & Enhance—can each contribute individually toward meeting the LEED product count.

Curecrete Brand Accordion

Section 03 35 43 / 03 35 00 – Concrete Floor Treatment Specify a concrete floor densifier with a third-party–verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) conforming to ISO 14025, ISO 21930, and EN 15804+A2. The EPD shall document cradle-to-gate and use-phase environmental impacts. Acceptable products include Ashford Formula and RetroPlate by Curecrete, or approved equal. Documentation shall be submitted under Division 01 Sustainability Requirements and will qualify as a product-specific Type III EPD under LEED v4.1 BD+C and ID+C, MR Credit: Building Product Disclosure and Optimization (BPDO), Option 1.
